   What you’re missing, Fabraz, is that humans (and presumably amarogs) are creatures of habit and patterns; survival in a way beneficial to us would be impossible without it.

   Of course, that means that any mental pattern we create, like hatred, is self-sustaining. Once it begins, it will continue to live and grow until we force it to stop. Left unchecked, it will never stop, and it will literally start eating portions of our mind, like logic and self-awareness, in an attempt to make more space.

   What’s more, forcing it to stop requires a very precise sense of self (a.k.a., a very large amount of self-awareness); without that sense, you can’t get rid of the hatred without destroying other parts of the mind as well. It’s essentially a sort of self-surgery on the brain; one must be very skilled and careful with the scalpel.

   There is a different way to get rid of the hatred, but it almost always leads to brain-death, so I’d advise against it.

   Hate often doesn’t need a reason. Especially racial based hate. It may have HAD a reason, even a very good one, but after a while, the reason is forgotten and only the hate remains.

     Perhaps this is just a phrasological difference, but I prefer the term “flexible mind”. An open mind strikes me as one that is easy to screw with.

       I find the concept of Cyborg English rather appealing, actually.
